I am a Completion Grant Fellow in Philosophy at the Department of Philosophy, Classics, History of Art and Ideas at the University of Oslo.
My main research interests are within ancient philosophy. I am particularly interested in questions concerning Aristotle's ethics, poetics, and biology. I have also done work on the Norwegian philosopher Peter Wessel Zapffe, and on the history of philosophy more broadly.
In my doctoral dissertation, “The Perfect Length of Life”, I am pursuing the question of why Aristotle seems to think that we need to live long in order to become happy. More precisely, I am attempting to answer the following question: if we indeed have to live long before we can be happy, then how long is enough?
